Thierry Fournier lives and works in Aubervilliers (France). Involving a large range of mediums (installations, interactive works, videos, sculptures, performances), his works questions the forms of our relationships to the world, socially or individually.
Having started out as an architect (graduate of the Lyons School of Architecture), he realizes at the same architecture, music and collaborations with choreographers and film directors, before giving an autonomous form to his works in the late 1990s.
His artworks have been exhibited and presented in numerous French and international contexts: Pompidou Center (Paris, 2008, 2009, 2011), Festival d’Automne (Paris, 2009), Contexts (Paris, 2011), Ménagerie de Verre (Paris, 2006), FRAC Haute Normandie (Rouen, 2007), Musée des beaux-arts de Nancy (2011), Chartreuse de Villeneuve lez Avignon (2008, 2009, 2010), Next International Festival (Valenciennes, France 2008), Lux Scène nationale de Valence (2009), Ososphere Festival (2008, 2009), Ecole des beaux-arts de Rennes (France, 2008), NibelungenMuseum (Germany, 2001), Techniches Museum Wien (Austria, 2006, 2009), The Aïchi (Japan, 2005) and Saragosse (Spain, 2008) International Fairs, etc.
He curates group shows and performances: L’Ombre d’un doute (2003), Ce qui nous regarde (2005), Conférences du dehors (2008), Cohabitation (2009 et 2011), Fenêtre augmentée (2011) and the CD review CD Pandore (1997-2004). He teaches and conducts researches at Nancy National Superior College of Art, Paris National superior College of Art and Design, and Sciences Po Paris.
